Temporary Accommodation Program in Collective Housing Centers for Ukrainians under Temporary Protection in the Brussels-Capital Region
This program is intended for individuals who hold an A card and receive social assistance from the state.
Under the terms of the program, eligible individuals may receive temporary accommodation in a Collective Housing Center on a paid basis and for a limited period.
Eligibility and Application Process:
To obtain a place in a Center, eligible individuals must contact the municipality of their registered residence. In exceptional cases, this process is handled by SPAS (Support Service for Adaptation and Resilience). If the application is approved, accommodation will be allocated based on the family composition.
Conditions of Stay:
Upon moving in, residents receive a contract for a defined period, with a fixed fee and internal rules of the Center.
Availability:
The number of available places is limited, and residents cannot choose their location. There is a possibility that no places will be available at the time of request.
Registration:
Residents can register their official address at the Center.
Temporary Stay:
The stay in the Center is temporary, aiming to provide basic support during the adaptation and integration period.
Integration Support:
To facilitate faster integration and access to independent housing, an on-site team coordinates support, including:
- Access to housing search roundtables;
- Access to French or Dutch language courses;
- Registration with Actiris (employment and social services agency), which is mandatory for receiving social services and support;
- Access to integration courses through BON (Belgian Training Network) or VDAB (Flemish Service for Employment and Vocational Training), promoting professional skill development and easier entry into the labor market.
This program aims to ensure safety and support for temporarily displaced persons, promoting their integration into society and adaptation to a new environment.
